Never mind if it's been over a year.
So it seems the carefree days of my youth have ended, and along with that apparently has come the end of my Newgrounds frequenting.
I'd like to start coming round again, but it seems like I never have the time these days. Iunno, maybe I'll come back around if you guys (HomicidialFrog and STALKERClock, and less likely Pearlock. You too Retrato.) comment up on in here. My ultimate plan was to return in a blaze of glory and animation, but well, this happened: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3893cb1a6a2c8e2fe87a911780eccd53
On top of that, due to a hard drive corruption I lost 100% of the progress I was making on a flash version of Link's Awakening, it wasn't going to be a 1:1 copy, but I was going somewhere with that. >:(
So there you have it.
Alright, I'm back. Now, you're probably thinking; "But Capn, why were you gone so long? We missed you so!". And I have a perfectly reasonable excuse for my absence. In a word: Skyrim.
I haven't been so stricken by and addicted to a game since Fable. Only this time, I have fuck-all else to do. Out of school, seeking employment. Lot of hours as of late spent in my basement lounge shouting at dragons.
But I digress. The important part is, I'm back. And I plan to remain back. And as such, there's some things I have to note.
1. Not crazy about the new layout. Not because of the style, that's nice. But I find it overly ad-ridden. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
2. Cash is now HomicidalFrog. When did this happen? Why?
3. There's been talks of some desire to make a collab of sorts. I'm all for this idea. Though I haven't worked in flash in a while, I'm confident that my skills haven't gone anywhere. I've been doing a lot more pencil/paper drawings lately, and I think some animation might be a fun way to mix things up a bit. So any ideas, just fire away.
Now, one last thing for now. Here's a little gesture, as kind of an apology for my extended absence. Something SEXEH!
Awesome games that have come out lately:
Battlefield 3 - Have it, Awesome.
Call of duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Have it. Pretty awesome, though not terribly different from Modern Warfare 2.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Have it, REALLY AWESOME.
Minecraft - Have had the Alpha/Beta for a while now, but now it's the FULL VERSION :O
Little Big Planet 2 - Don't have it, but have played it. Awesome.
Dead Space 2 - STILL haven't played it. Looks awesome.
Killzone 3 - Have it. Decent.
Gears of War 3 - Don't have it, have played it. Awesome. Huge improvement over GoW2.
Halo: Combat Evolved 10th Anniversary - Don't have yet, graphical remake of Halo 1. Halo 1 was awesome, so by association, this is too.
Super Mario 3D Land - I don't own a 3DS, but this game looks awesome.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Don't have (yet). Looks cool, and I loved the other Assassin's Creed games.
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Am getting sometime this week. Legend of Zelda is awesome, even despite the fact that I don't really like the Wii's motion controls.
RockSmith - A game I can plug my guitar into?! o_O AWESOME!
Long gone are the days of my constant Newgrounds posts. It's been fun, but unfortunately, I will continue to be rather inactive on here. Put simply, I have better things to do. This is not to say that I will never be on here again, but rather an official announcement of my inactivity.
That said, what kind of things have you all been up to?
I recently got "Dead Island" for PS3. It's really fun. A lot of good, wholesome, zombie killing fun.
Think of it as a kind of a cross between Left 4 Dead, and Dead Rising. Only in first person. It's not bad, give it a try.
Yeah so like, I've been offline for what seems like EVAR. What's up with that?
..Please don't throw rotten tomatoes at me.
Anyway, so it seems unlikely that our collab is going anywhere.. unfortunately. In light of that, I supose i need a new project to work on, to make up for being inactive all this time.
Oh and Merry/Happy Christmas to everybody.
Happy new year too! Hope you all got wasted. I know i did ;D
So uh, yeh...
Alex is with his girlfriend, and like, they hear a big crash outside.
They go outside, and there's alien ships goin around abducting people.
Alex and the girl, iunno let's call her chelsea i guess. Anyway, Alex and Chelsea escape the city and end up in the military base, where they find that all the Army's attacks are to no avail.
When they try out a nuke, the alien ship is engulfed in flame and smoke and other nuke-tastic stuff, seemingly destroyed, only to emerge unharmed.
The Alien mothership lands, and the aliens come out to try and communicate.
Before they can, the army invades the physically weak aliens and destroys the ship from the inside with the aliens weapons.
As the aliens' ships are destroyed, Alex comes across one of the aliens, who is dying.
With his last words, the alien reveals, in an epic twist that the world is doomed by an unstoppable asteroid. The aliens, who had been studying Earth's growing population of humans, had come to rescue us from the asteroid, thus, making the destruction of the alien's an act dooming themselves.
Before fading to credits, the camera pans to space, where the huge asteroid can be seen heading towards the earth.
Happy endings are too cliche for my liking.
Wow, have I really not made a post about Fable in that long? Surprising, considering Fable 3 came out like, a week and a half ago...
Anyway, here's another video of me, for those interested. If you watch, you'll understand the title of the post...
Didn't get the memo. Too busy playing Fable 3. If you want some sort of review from me go see CashClock's page, as we discussed mostly everything there is to discuss about that game.
I was going to dress as STALKERClock and take a picture, but i was too lazy to make a clock mask (again, Fable III). And I find it funny that the clock of all things was the hard thing to find. I have an appropriate coat, i have access to all sorts of guns... but the damned clock...
Besides that, my Halloween activities involved watching Jackass 3D in theatres with some friends, and then carving a pumpkin to look like the awesome face (the smiley in my banner).
Okay, so I've been watching the score on my Madness Day flash climb, which some curiosity I might say.
Why did that horrible abomination get a score of 3.00+/5.00?
After that, I noticed that all of my flashes are now 3.00+, some are 4.00.
Why are any of my flash animations 3.00+? For the most part, they are terrible. There's one that I'm proud of, and it didn't even have voice acting.
There are so many overlooked flash animations on this website that are great. The artists have much skill and talent, and yet their flash movies suffer being blammed or otherwise voted into oblivion.
Related to my older post:
I recorded something completely different.
So I suddenly had a desire to film myself.
My life is too boring to be a vlogger, so my only option for entertainment is to fil myself playing music.
Don't expect singing, but I'll play guitar or keyboard.
I don't play piano, so my options are limited to;
Jump by Van Halen
The intro to Master of Puppets by Metallica
On Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz.
Then on guitar, I'll play whatever, I'll take requests, if they aren't ridiculous.
I know the theme song of Fable 2... And like Hotel California,
Uhm... lots of chords to random stuff
Bunch of other stuff, I have an electric and an acoustic.
I know some System of a Down n stuff.
So yeah! Requests on guitar... On piano, that's all i know really.
Picture is of me, awaiting your decision.
